My FoOt iS My Flat TiRe
Hi Ann- So I hurt my right foot this past weekend which is bad timing because of trying to get my house in order to put on the market- Prior to this ankle event I was without my sewing machine for 10 days. It desperately needed servicing and when the black shuttle part (?) behind the bobbin broke -it prompted me to get the service done (especially since it wasn't sewing). I got the machine back the middle of last week and quickly got back to sewing. It was my reward in between painting, packing and purging.
Look Ann-it's your BFF Stella wondering why you aren't here to see her.
Once I had the machine back in the house and plugged in I set to work sewing- well cutting first.
I made a quilt for a dear work friend who retired from HHP last year. She had asked me to make her a dolphin flag and I wanted to make her a quilt instead. I decided I had plenty of fabric to choose from in my stash and would use what I had on hand to make this quilt (of course this still meant a trip to the LQS where I bought some fabric- the border fabric and the muslin were from my stash). This is me so proud I actually used
something I had in my closet- go figure huh!
We all called her the queen (in the most respectful manner) as she was the queen of the place. The quilt needed a crown and of course some dolphin.

Before My Machine Took to Ailing I began the Machine Quilting on the RattleSnake. Time consuming however I like the depth of the quilting. |

Here's What I've Been Doing...
I had a flat tire on Thursday and they had to order the tire. It was supposed to come in today but unfortunately wasn't on the truck. Since I don't feel comfortable driving with that little spare I've been housebound and trying to cross things off my list.
My Just Two Stars which will go in the mail tomorrow.
I volunteered (I know, opened my mouth!) to make a baby quilt for the LQS..it's only the top
and finished piecing the top of the quilt that I'm making for my sister.
I might have also bought some more fabric just to fill in the color holes from my last frenzy. I needed some more purple and they had lots of other colors that I liked! I like your suggestion of the kind of quilt to make with the fabric. I want to be able to see it, so I want the fabric to be in large pieces.
That's it for today. Hoping I can get my one quilt done before the end of the month!

My Treat Today
Sorry that my shoe is in the photo- I am too lazy to crop it out. I already started to cut and put on my design wall...more tomorrow.
Treating Myself and Making a Star for Just One Star
Hi I realized this morning that I really need some new fabric so I am going to go to Gastonia after I work out and after I go to IKEA (for stuff to get my house ready to go on the market and be sold). I'll post my findings here when I get home this afternoon. I also am going to make a Star block for Just One Star- I included the link because I am thinking you'll probably want to do one too. I really wish you were here to spend the day together.
http://www.unitednotions.com/LA_just_one_star.pdf They are asking for one star to put together quilts and are hoping to receive 1800 stars.

Buying Frenzy of the Best Kind
No real updates on any quilting progress to post but I did spend lots of time last week in Virginia bonding with the grandkids. I had a great time and may have held myself captive in a quilt store until I bought some fabric...
Ihad no problem forced myself to buy these fabrics. So unlike me but I love the colors and can't wait to figure out what I'll do with them!
I also bought some of this....

I also bought some of this....
Spring must be in the air!
Tomorrow I want to find backing and start quilting the mystery baby quilt that we have both decided to finish this month. Any progress on yours?

Here's What I've Been Doing
Hi so I returned from California on Friday evening. Slept Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. In between I have been sewing.
New Doll Quilt
Finished This One Quilted and I love the backing
The Photos don't do this justice-it is yecky outside so I had to take the photo inside. I think I am going to stipple quilt it-any suggestions are welcome.
Then there is this bad boy- and if you are going to finish yours then I think I should put my money where my mouth is and finish mine too.
