Hand Quilting

I forgot that I like to Hand Quilt! I made a little doll quilt and decided to hand quilt it.

What Was I Thinking???

Where were you when I needed you? One the local quilt stores offered a class the other day on this quilt...

You have to squint..it's the small one! It's a Cindy Blackburg design that is just beautiful. I signed up not realizing that the pattern pieces are all hand stamped on to the fabric, individually cut and then pieced by hand! The four blocks in the middle are all handwork too! Needless to say this is going to be a long work in progress.

Here are all the pieces for one nine inch block and and the one paw that I've done. I should have put a penny in the picture so you could get a better feel for just how small these things are. Today I experimented with piecing  sewed one seam on the machine and was happy with it.

 Here's a better view of the bear paw...I do love the color combo! Just not too jazzed about hand piecing. You know me..I'm a jam it through the machine and be first to finish kind of girl! I'm determined to finish this just because it is outside my comfort zone. Wish me luck!
Another project completed is this Valentine pillow cover. Really happy about this one.

I love your brother's quilt and the story behind it. You are so prolific and talented. You amaze me with the projects that you share. Miss you and love you.
